The new Graduation Planning System will make it easier for students to graduate in four years. Starting with Destination Kent State this summer, the new GPS system will replace the current KAPS system.

Italia, ti amo

Every time someone asks me about my study abroad trip to Italy with the College of Communication and Information, I subconsciously roll my eyes. Not because I’m sick of talking about it or because I hate reflecting on it, but because I’m annoyed that I haven’t come up with the best answer yet.

“It was great!” or “time of my life!” or even worse: “It was really awesome!” What a lame answer. Unless they have the better part of the afternoon free and the thirst for a half dozen cups of coffee, those words are the best I can do. Where do I start? The weekend trip where my new friends and I slept on the beach? Or the time we missed our flight back from Dublin? It is impossible to explain emotions of living in one of the most beautiful countries in the world.

We would like to accredit you, cherish you and honor you for the unique faculty that you are.”

About Jessica

You haven’t met someone as passionate about public relations until you’ve met Jessica. She’s a fixer by nature – a true trait of a Cancer – and is intent on helping clients, whether its through branding initiatives or media relations.

She believes  public relations is more than a press release – it’s about building relationships and integrating social media creatively to distinguish clients’ campaigns or causes. Jessica grew up in the digital age, picking up a knack for social media. She believes that through social media, the groundswell can solve most of the world’s problems, or maybe just impress a few clients.

As Jessica nears her last semester at Kent State, she finds her career choice to be the perfect fit. Her friends and family are pretty sick of their grammar being corrected, and her friends are sick of her social media advice. She often asks herself, “What would a public relations pro do?” at almost every story or company scandal that crosses the news.

Jessica’s got the passion, the drive, and she’s a darn good writer. Her interest in public relations include: branding, social media engagement, SEO management, and media relations. She’s confident in her skills she has learned at Kent State University and believes she can crank out work that far exceeds the expectation.

Quirky facts:

Jessica loves Crossfit, puppies, pancakes, naps, InDesign and bright lipstick. She also likes to brag about her many summers spent working on boats in Key West. She can tell you anything, and I mean anything, about dolphins.

As much as she loves, there some things she will forever dislike, such as, the noise an alarm clock makes, salads, UGG boots, and doing laundry.
